Candie Groves

Candie Groves has lived in Blytheville since 2004, along with her husband Greg and their two children, Madison and Charlie.
After several months of volunteering with The Arts Council, Candie became a board member in the spring of 2008, and soon after became Chair of the TAC Marketing Committee. She has been serving as board Vice President since May 2009.
A graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Candie holds a BSE degree in World Languages & Cultures: French and a minor in Theatre Arts. Candie has worked for the Blytheville School District for four years where she currently teaches French at the High School, and is an English Language Learner (ELL) instructor at both BHS and at the Middle School. She is also the Assistant Director of the Academic Excellence Afterschool Program at the Blytheville Primary and Central Elementary campuses.
In her spare time, Candie is very active in community and school organizations. She has been a member of ACT 2! Community Theatre since 2005 both on and off stage, and has been serving as President of the group since January 2011. She (along with JD Harris) has been co-directing ACT 2!’s annual children’s production since 2009. Candie is currently on the BHS Stakeholder’s Committee and sponsors the BHS French Club. She has also been a part of the Odyssey of the Mind program since 1994 as a competitor, coach, judge, and parent.
Candie's hobbies include working with children of all ages through education and extracurricular projects, and participating in all aspects of live theatre, especially acting, directing, set construction, make up, and working backstage.
