Steps To Rent The Ritz

Thank you for considering The Ritz Civic Center as the place to host your special event.

Provided there is basic information for renting The Ritz Civic Center.  Your needs may vary.

For more detailed information on what you may need,
please contact David Lyttle, Executive Director at the Ritz (870) 762-1744.

Reserve your date with the Ritz.  A Rental Contract should be signed and a Booking Fee should be paid as far in advance as possible to secure the date for your event.  The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Determine your rental needs.  Including the total rental time, show time, lighting, sound, etc.  To help determine time needed, a good start would be to take the time needed for your performance or event and add an hour before for set-up and an hour after for breakdown.

Facility Rental Rates
  • Package #1 = 4 hours of usage for $300.00
  • Package #2 = 6 hours of usage for $400.00
  • Package #3 = 8 hours of usage for $500.00

  • Booking Fee
$50 if booked 20 or more days in advance or $100 if booked less then 20 days in advance.

  • Lighting Technician  $ 10 per hour
  • Special or Spotlight $ 50 for equipment plus $10 per hour tech***

Overtime Costs
When time exceeds rental package:
  • $50 for first 30 minutes over,
  • additional $100 for second 30 minutes,
  • additional $150 for third thirty minutes, etc.

Sign a contract with the Arts Council of Mississippi County to rent the facility.
Pay all rental fees and Security Deposit no later than 20 (twenty) business days prior to the event date, or the event will be cancelled.

* Security Deposit: After a review of the facilities by a Ritz agent at the end of a rental the Security Deposit will be refunded in full if the building is in the same condition as it was found.  If there is any overtime or damage fees the deposit will not be refunded until all fees are paid.  Refund usually made within three days of event.
** Sound: Any sound requirement beyond a Basic Sound Package (CD player, one monitor, one microphone on stand and use of hanging microphones) requires a sound technician at $10 per hour and additional equipment costs as required.  This clause includes use of any pre-recorded material played through the house system (CD’s only).
*** Lights: Any lighting requirement beyond a single-setting unmonitored general illumination of the stage, including use of the house follow spotlight, requires a lighting technician.  The User and TAC or its designated Director shall agree upon lighting setup prior to the rental date.

There are guidelines as described in the Blytheville, Arkansas Rules for parks, Ordinance 1546 which have been set for the local parks and public buildings under Parks and Recreation.

Unlawful Acts of Note: (as relates to performance and public gatherings)
  •      It is unlawful to carry or discharge any firearms, firecrackers, rockets, torpedoes or any other fireworks or air guns or slingshots unless first approved by the Parks and Recreation Commission.
  •      It is unlawful to use or speak any threatening, abusive, insulting or indecent language in any of the public parks or buildings and no person shall commit in any such parks or public buildings any obscene, lewd or indecent act or create any nuisance.
  •      It is unlawful to possess or use alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or narcotics in any park or public building except for alcoholic beverage use approved for special events by the Parks and Recreation Commission.
  •      Penalties: A person violating the ordinance can be fined up to $1000.00.

SPECIAL NOTE
Violation of any of the above can result in the immediate end to program or presentation, with no refund or compensation due to presenter/renter, or any performers or service providers involved in the event. If there is any question regarding possible content of material for a program, a presenter will be required to provide material for prior approval by The Arts Council of Mississippi County.
